Opening Dates

The park is open annually from April - October.

Booking Arrangements

Bookings can be made online. Full payment is required at time of booking. If you would like to book more than 14 nights, please phone reception. We kindly ask that campers arrive between 2 pm - 6 pm and leave by midday. Please phone us if this isn't convenient and we will do our best to accommodate you. (No arrivals after 9 pm). The first night’s payment is taken as a non-refundable deposit unless at least one month’s cancellation notice is given. Please note, refunds will not be given due to adverse weather conditions.

We have created most pitches to accommodate both right and left hand openers. However , if your camper is a right hand opener with an awning , please choose pitches 16-19, 39-45 or you will have to pitch the opposite way round in order to maintain the 6 meter distance between campers. Thank you.

(If the campsite appears full, it may be worth giving us a call for availability, as we retain control of some pitches which are not bookable on-line)

Tents and Awnings

Tents cannot be booked on-line, please phone or email for availability, up to a week in advance. Tents sized ≤ 3m² acceptable, with a maximum stay on any one pitch of 3 nights. Please note, tent pitches are uneven and rocky; with the risk of high winds, we recommend mountain tents and rock pegs. This is to protect our grounds and allow the grass to recover between bookings.

Awnings and trailer tents, for the same reason, must have a breathable groundsheet or no groundsheet. AMEND this sentence in Touring and Camping as follows: ‘Fortrose is an historic seaside village, only a short walk from the campsite, with a coop supermarket, butchers, bakery, café, pub and restaurant.

Touring and Camping

We are licensed as a touring seasonal site for 50 pitches with amenities including electric hook-ups throughout (16amps), 2 toilet blocks with showers, electric razor points and hairdryer sockets, an extra shower shack (great for families), kitchen and laundry area with washer/dryer/fridge/freezer, chemical waste and grey water disposal areas. Well behaved dogs are welcome!

Fortrose Bay Campsite lies on the shore of the Moray Firth, with uninterrupted views of the distant mountains and spectacular sunsets. Please note, it can be subject to strong westerly winds.

Fortrose is an historic seaside village. It lies 15miles NE of Inverness and is a great base to explore the rest of the Highlands. The Black Isle benefits from its own micro climate, often having better weather than other parts of Scotland. It is virtually midge free!! which makes it a great place to camp. Chanonry Point is a 20min walk away and a great spot to view the UK's most northern colony of bottlenose dolphins.
